We’re all in this together – Emily Tunstall, Hazelton Mountford
Our latest update is from Emily Tunstall, Account Handler for Jake Mountford, Director:
As a very sociable person, the thought of working from home did not appeal to me at all! The HM office is such a great place to work, we all get on so well and there’s a real sense of being in a team, which I was worried I would miss out on by working from home. However, I think these unsettling circumstances have brought us all closer… as we’re so aware we need to look out for each other. We are still having more team meetings and group chats where we can just drop work queries in, the kind of things you would normally speak about with your colleagues in the office, but also making sure we are talking to each other socially to make sure everyone is doing OK.
There are a lot more distractions when working from home – in my case it’s a 12 week old puppy called Luna – but you just have to make it work for you. I’ve found that if I keep taking micro breaks throughout the day and going into the garden with Luna, that keeps both of us a lot calmer.
Working from home is a challenge but I keep reminding myself that we’re all in this together and we’ll all be back in the office when it is safe and right to do so.
Next time, we hear from Vee. Until then, take care and stay safe.
